Klassics With A "K", released in 1996, was the only full-length album by Luscious Jackson members Vivian Trimble and Jill Cunniff. The only other Kostars release was a 7" single of the track Hey Cowboy, now only available through the GR2 Records website. [2] Fellow Luscious Jackson members, Kate Schellenbach and Gabby Glaser, contributed drums and lead guitar, respectively, to the album. Both Dean and Gene Ween of Ween contributed to the album as well. The album was engineered by Josephine Wiggs, bass player of The Breeders, marking her first full-length engineering project. [3] The album was recorded and mixed in twenty-five days at the Meat and Potatoes Studio, a 16-track home studio put together in the Luscious Jackson rehearsal room. [3]

Ween American rock band

Ween is an American rock band from New Hope, Pennsylvania, formed in 1984 by Aaron Freeman and Mickey Melchiondo, better known by their respective stage names, Gene and Dean Ween. Generally categorized as an alternative rock band, the band are known for their highly eclectic catalog of songs inspired by funk, soul, country, gospel, prog, psychedelia, R&B, heavy metal, punk rock, and countless more.

Billy Joel's Greatest Hits is a collection released in two sets, 12 years apart. The first set, consisting of two discs, titled Volume I and Volume II, was released in 1985. To Be Continued... is a four-disc box set detailing Elton John's music from his days with Bluesology to the then-present day. Four new songs were recorded for the box set. Newly sober John was unhappy with the US cover art, so the 1991 UK release was issued with new cover art and also replaced "You Gotta Love Someone" and "I Swear I Heard the Night Talkin'" with then-unreleased "Suit of Wolves" and "Understanding Women", the former a B-side to "The One" and the latter later included as a track on the 1992 album The One. Kostars was an alternative/pop-rock side project formed by Vivian Trimble and Jill Cunniff while on a headlining tour with Luscious Jackson in 1995. Trimble and Cunniff, who needed an additional outlet for the transistor radio hits they were writing, wrote under the name Kostars titled Klassics With A "K". The album was recorded at Kate Schellenbach's home studio, and released in 1996. It featured drums by Kate and a guest guitar spot by Gabby as well as Gene and Dean Ween of Ween and was engineered/recorded by Josephine Wiggs, bass player of The Breeders, marking her first full length engineering project. A few years later, Wiggs and Trimble would release an album together as Dusty Trails.

Ween discography

The following is the discography of Ween, a Pennsylvania-based experimental alternative band formed by childhood friends Aaron Freeman and Mickey Melchiondo, better known by their respective stage names, Gene Ween and Dean Ween. Starting out with a few locally released demo tapes, including The Crucial Squeegie Lip, AXIS: Bold as Boognish, and The Live Brain Wedgie / WAD Excerpts, the band was picked up by independent label Twin/Tone Records in 1990 and released their debut GodWeenSatan: The Oneness. In 1991 they signed with another independent label, Shimmy-Disc, and released The Pod. Later, Ween signed with Elektra Records and released their major label debut Pure Guava in 1992. It features their highest-charting single to date, "Push th' Little Daisies". While touring for this album, they played at Chapel Hill, North Carolina, which would later be released as a CD/DVD live album in 2008 titled At the Cat's Cradle, 1992.
